Role: Women’s Menopause Specialist 

Specialisation: Experience in managing or supporting within women services 

Contract: Full Time: 6-month probationary period 

Salary: £35,500 – £37,500 per annum, depending on experience 

Reporting to: CEO 

*This position is offered on a three-year fixed-term basis, with continuation 

subject to securing further funding. 

About Us 

Bench Outreach is a compassionate and dynamic charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals. Our Shades of Wellness project is a pioneering initiative focused on supporting women of colour experiencing menopause, mental health challenges, substance misuse, and housing insecurity. We are seeking a committed Women’s Specialist Worker to join our team and drive this important work. 

The Role 

We are actively seeking candidates who bring lived experience and cultural understanding relevant to the communities we serve — particularly Black and global majority women. 

As the Women’s Menopause Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialist support to women of colour facing overlapping challenges. You will develop and deliver targeted interventions, ensuring that the unique experiences of menopause, mental health, and housing insecurity are addressed in a culturally competent and trauma-informed way. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide one-to-one and group support, focusing on menopause, mental health, and housing-related challenges. 
  • Work collaboratively with multiple agencies to establish coordinated service agreements. 
  • Advocate for clients’ rights to access housing, welfare, and health services. 
  • Facilitate workshops and reflective practice sessions, empowering women to build resilience and reconnect with their cultural identity. 
  • Ensure safeguarding protocols are rigorously followed to protect all participants. 
  • Maintain detailed records and contribute to project evaluations. 
  • Additional responsibilities as needed agreed with your line manager. 

About You

You are passionate about empowering women and have a strong understanding of the intersectionality between health, housing, and mental well-being. You are experienced in working with vulnerable individuals and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in your approach.
