One Year On
It has been one year since we lost our much loved CEO, colleague, and friend, Declan Flynn. 
Declan led Bench Outreach with vision, warmth, and deep compassion. Under his leadership, the organisation grew not only in strength but in heart. His belief that every person deserves dignity, safety, and a place to call home continues to inspire all that we do.
Beyond his role as CEO, Declan was a mentor and a wise counsel to many of us — bringing clarity, humour, and care to even the hardest of days. His ability to see the potential in people and in projects was a gift that left a lasting imprint on the Bench team and the wider community.
We still feel his absence deeply. We also feel his legacy in the way we work, the values we hold, and the commitment we carry forward.
Today, on this anniversary, we honour Declan’s memory with gratitude. We remain committed to building on the foundation he laid — always with heart, always with hope.
